Hello.
In trying to research how to repair our 1996 SHO, I came across information
about a class action lawsuit some SHO owners are filing against Ford for cam
failure. Back in April, we had our engine replaced, followed by our transmission
earlier this Month (DEC). When going out today (12/17/02) we attempted to start
our vehicle and it simply would not turn over. WE have contacted the dealership
we purchased from and were unable to get help from them or from Ford when we
tried to contact them. Please send information regarding this suit as we are
angered by what has conspired since purchasing the vehicle with 80k miles just
last November 2001.

Owners of 96 SHO 1FALP54NXTA241208 built in 3/96 failed CAM
@80k in 3/02 while driving 35mph through intersection. Trans failed less than 6
months later so beware of trans problems too. Had to have Jasper rebuild engine
because Ford refused to pay for repairs totaling 23k+. Still paying monthly on
vehicle and it has again failed. More than 20k dollars in repairs in less than
one year. Purchased from Koons Ford used cars in Falls Church Va, Nov 01.
Details given when needed. We talked about filing suit in April but were told by
dealership that this was an isolated incident.
