Title: Eric's Trans Cooler Install

9/29/2003

I get my coolers from http://www.summitracing.com/

Under and in front of the radiator are 2 tubes crossing from passenger to driver's side, the lower tube has fins on it on all gen 3 SHO's - this is your power steering cooler. The upper tube has fins on 98/99 but is just a pipe on the 96/97 years. This is your factory trans cooler. The driver's side of this pipe is where you want to splice in your cooler. Remove the hose from the pipe and run a new hose from the end of the pipe to your cooler, the discharge of the cooler then splices back into the hose you pulled off the pipe.

I hang the cooler from my Airdam with 2 screws and wrap the upper tube with corrugated wire loom insulation. I then use 2 heavy zip ties to secure the cooler to the wire loom insulation over the factory cooler pipe. It is important to NOT mount the cooler directly to the radiator as the air will only flow over cooler when electric fans kick on instead of all the time.
Hope this is the info you wanted.
Regards
Eric Lehmann

Keep your transmission from going south

24,000 GVW, 11 in. x 6 in. x 1 1/2 in., transmission cooler

The last thing you need in the middle of a race is a transmission going south because your trans cooler can't keep up. This B&M Super Cooler will solve that problem. This lightweight, aluminum cooler has an efficient "stacked plate" design with multiple cooling paths that gives it the cooling capacity of a larger fan and tube cooler--you can even use the Super Cooler as an engine oil cooler. And because it's a low pressure drop design, there is less oiling-system restriction.
