Misc. Roadtest

The 1998 Taurus SHO.
Sophisticated, world-class performance.

Standard solar-tinted glass reduces heat build-up and helps the air conditioner cool the car faster.

Second Generation depowered airbags on Ford vehicles are designed to further enhance protection for the driver and passenger.
IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR THE ULTIMATE, red-hot and loaded performance sedan, then you're looking for the Taurus SHO.

The first hint that this isn't the usual family sedan will be the subtle, deck-mounted spoiler. The full story unfolds when you look inside. The interior is a fine blend of sports sedan and luxury automobile. There's room for five, with leather sport buckets, 6-way power driver's seat, tilt leather steering wheel, aerodynamic autobahn variable-speed windshield wipers, and much more.

Taurus SHO comes complete with the 80 watt Ford MACH Audio system, including an AM/FM receiver, cassette deck, six speakers, and trunk mounted six-disc CD changer.

The stunning, sculpted lines of the Taurus SHO wrap around the flush halogen headlamps, dual electric remote-control mirrors, triple-sealed door frames and full solar tinted glass. The package is complete with rear decklid spoiler, front and rear splash shields, and bodyside protection moldings.

The SHO is powered by an exhilarating 235 horsepower, 32 valve, 3.4 litre electronic fuel injected V8. This is mated to an electronically controlled, 4-speed automatic transaxle with overdrive lockout, transmitting the power to low profile 16" performance tires on aluminum wheels.

The SHO has everything you've come to expect in a sports car and a luxury sedan, all wrapped up in one serious performance package.

THE 1998 SHO
lets you travel confidently alongside the world's finest luxury sport sedans.
