I talked to Don Sunday about the V8 SHO Exhaust tips. Plan is mine look like hell and they never were made out of the best SS. To get replacements from Ford you have to buy the whole cat back system.
Replacement tips are the wrong oval, don't match the bumper cutouts or bumper radius.
Together Don and I thought we can contact a SS fabricator who makes exhaust tips and maybe we can have 50 or 100 pair made. - Cost is dependant on quantity. I am thinking $100/pair max, could be less.
Only 4 folks expresses any interest. Add Don & I and 6 pair isn't going to get the job done on a commercial scale.
So if anyone is interested, (I am not asking 100% committed) let me know or this project will die a early death.
Replacement tips would be the same design, only polished SS that will look like chrome. A SS that will never get a bronze tint. Dimensionally the same as the original.

After a lot phone calls this is what has come together on this project so far. I got a extra pair of tips from Al Fritz. They are not in any better condition than what I currently have. Each tip is an oval 5" x 2.25", has a nice smooth transformation from the 2.25" to the oval and has it's own HD hanger. It would not be a cheap or easy piece to duplicate. From the top view it is cut off to match the bumper radius and also is undercut.
All that I can get done in bright SS or chrome and still sell for $100 + S&H but it also has a rolled edge at the terminal end. I am informed that would require a $7,000 die per side and you know I don't think I can manage that.
I have one more place to check, but for now the project looks like a no go.
