Hi Lucien,

Thanks for the note. Yes it was a cam failure, or rather a cam sprocket failure on the front
head intake cam. The sprocket fell off of the cam. It had not been welded. It was a 1996
SHO. With some considerable effort I can find the VIN number, if you need it.
I was going to use this engine for a hotrod project, but gave up on the idea when I
found that there were absolutely no part available. Ford is a real source of disapointment
with there attitude on supplying parts. I though it was general practice to supply parts
for at least 10 years, but not in this case. It looks like the supply of parts dried up a long time
ago.
