Cam Failure Video

new 8/16/04, updated 8/17/04

Larry & Eric disassembled a donor engine and inspected it. Watch Eric perform a test by turning the slave cam.

The slave cam turns, the drive cam sprocket turns. But the drive cam and it's drive sprocket on the far left remain motionless.

As most of you know, Sunday, August 15, 2004 Eric and I were in the process of preparing the donor motor for my car. (hereafter referred to as simply SW9)

One of Eric's normal procedures is to test the cams to insure there has been no movement. Well, wait until you see this.

The format is primarily Quick time on the above link, but should be supported by most viewers.

The above should be viewed by folks with any type of high speed connection as it exceeds 11MB. However the resolution is really good and you can clearly see the movement.

For our Dial up friends, use this link, resolution is not near as good, but file size is down to about 2MB
