Chain Tensioner Failure

new 8/20/04

Well , the mystery is over and the verdict is in . I was right last night . The engine locked from a chain tensioner failure . Pics are below . This engine was badly neglected and probably never had an oil change before me w/104,000 on it . I've made the decision to go ahead and rebuild it as it's super gunkie and has metal shavings in it , but still a good engine . The cams and block tested out fine upon physical inspection . I'm going to go ahead and use the recent engine I just bought w/cam failure and build this one from the ground up .

Has anyone ever seen this type of failure before ?

I also added a pic of the SHO I bought last month for $1150.00 w/only 45,000 on it . It needs paint and a little attention from owner neglect to the body (still waiting on my body man to have an open stall) , but all in all a good investment for me .
