Lifter noise? Do these engines even have lifters? I thought the cams pushed on the valves?

Gee, must have been diagnosed by the same dealer that did mine before the cam sprocket gave out the following week! Nope, even I knew that it didn't have lifters though the service writer asked me to verify my ASE certification before he would write up an order stating "it has a loose cam sprocket which would be next to impossible to occur on a car of this age".
