Tim,
I was wondering if you could add these guys to one of the few Great Ford Dealerships/Service Depts.
I had my car in their shop for a few nasty things. Bad Coil, Oil Cooler Leaking, and the Alternator Pulley was bad. Keep in mind, I'm not a mechanic. So for something this complicated I swalled my pride and sent it to a dealership. Specifically Reiss Ford in Marissa, IL.
I talked with John (Service Lead), and got some info on the problems with my 1997 SHO. The oil cooler itself wasn't bad, but the gasket was beyond hope. He told me that FORD doesn't just sell the gasket; I'd have to get a whole new Oil Cooler. John said he didn't feel right charging me $382 for a New Cooler just because a gasket was bad. Him and his Lead Tech got together and said they'd look and see what they can do.
Today, I got a call back from John. He had good news. They managed to find the gasket without me having to shell out for a new cooler! They saved me $382 (minus the cost for the gasket).
I've heard good things about the Service Dept at Riess before. They went to a customers house 75 miles away, and loaded a car up on a trailer so the customer wouldn't have to have it towed. Then went and picked the customer up and brought them to the dealership when the car was done. They were $20 cheaper than any other Ford Dealership in the St. Louis area. The only place I found that was close in price was a non-ford shop, and there were still $5/hr higher in labor.
John and his crew know the business about SHO's. I've talked with them for about 15 min on SHO's both times they called. These guys live the phrase "Quality Is Job 1". :)
Thanks Tim!

There are a bit of a drive from St. Louis probably 45 min from downtown, but in my opinion worth the ride in the country.
Thanks again,
