Gordon Gregg - Cam Failure #348

Well, I was warned. I believe I have just suffered a cam failure. Engine stalled in a puddle and now won't turn over. It made an ominous clunk when it stalled. I thought I had heard an unusual clatter for the last few days. I chalked it up to cold weather. I guess not.

Ok, here are some details of my cam failure. It occurred 2/3/04 on a city street. I was going about 2 mph through an icy puddle. The engine just shut off with a muffled clunk. It will not turn over now. My VIN is 1FALP54N3VA161400. I have 135,178 miles on the clock. This has not been completely confirmed, but I did hear some minor clatter in the few days leading up to the failure. I hoped this was just due to the cold weather and my need for an oil change.
