To whom it may concern,
I have tried for the past few months to email your website and report my cam failure, but after your website updates, I never see my failure listed. I was wondering if you could tell me what I need to do to get it listed? Or if this is something you guys aren't interested in doing any more. Maybe my/your emails are being captured in a spam filter?
Please advise if you would like more information to list my cam failure on your website.
Thanks for your help,
Details Pending - Buford
Tim,
I have/had a 1997 Black SHO with 130,000 miles. It experienced cam failure as diagnosed by my mechanic once I had him read up on the details of a cam failure in very early June. The failure took place going down a city street at 20 miles per hour and I was just coasting down a hill. As the car descended a hill, the engine died and could not be restarted and had to be towed to my mechanic. It has sat in my mechanic's lot ever since. My mechanic gave me an estimate of $3-$5,000 to install an new engine and weld the cams, but with money still owed on the car, I have decided to not go that route. I plan on selling the vehicle as-is to try and recoup as much money as possible to help make the final payoff on the car.
I purchased the car in August, 2001 with 52,000 miles and it was the most expensive and first vehicle I had ever purchased from a dealer. I do not plan on owning another Ford vehicle. If you need the VIN #, I can get that for you, just let me know.
Thanks,
Jami Ryan
