Vadim at the SHO SHOP has developed a Limited Slip Differential (LSD) kit for the 89-95 SHO. The LSD is manufactured in England by Quaife and costs $1295. Currently the same kit is not available for Gen 3 SHOs.
A LSD sends power to both drive wheels and would be great in rain or snow an useful for anyone running NOS or with plans for a blower.
Vadim would need at least 12 -20 folks to commit to such a development project and they would have to understand the parts cost may be higher than that of the Gen 1-2 LSD and the whole ATX must be removed to rebuild it with the LSD. Add 16+ hours labor to the cost of the parts for a LSD budget.
Enough of us have trashed ATX but most of us have been under warranty or ESP. Ford would not be amenable to installing a LSD under a warranty rebuild. Off warranty a SHO owner would have to pay $2500-$3000 for the rebuild plus $1400 parts for the LSD plus and additional labor for setting up the LSD.
When Vadim does get the blower working, the blower/ LSD combo will be the hot ticket.
