My Canadian SHO

new 11/02/2007

I’m only 23, so alumni would be a strong term to use in describing my relationship with ford, but I’ve only had fords since I was 16. Started out with an ’86 Bronco, I loved it; endless power, lots of room and dependable. After that I got an early 80’s cougar XR7, while I liked that as well I only owned it for 6 months before I spied a ’98 SHO on the lot at a used car place. My SHO was the first nice car I ever owned, I bought it in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and soon after moved to Houston, Texas. I drove my SHO loaded with all my stuff the whole way. Found a nice stretch of road, I think it was called the Indian Nations Turnpike, as I came into Texas. I took full advantage of the lack of traffic, awesome road, and V8. Even loaded with everything a guy owns it’ll do an easy 200km/h without blinking. I loved driving on the freeway with people from Texas that didn’t realize the rest of the world was metric, get going at 120km and they would just assume it was miles and either comment on how nice the ride was at such a high speed or try to tell me my speedometer was broken. I lived in Texas for a few years before moving back to Canada, again driving the SHO. Soon after getting back home I started having some problems, I did some research. I found V8SHO.com and was made aware of the cam shaft problem so after spending some angry hours on the phone to ford with no support I promptly traded it in at a dealership before things got bad. I’m so disgusted with ford that I will never buy one again. My position at work gives me a new loaded ¾ ton truck every year; I swear on the bible that that ¾ ton will NEVER have an F-250 Lariat logo on it.
