New 02/17/2005
I receive lots of mail from new owners. Every now and then I think it's good for us older owners to read some of these if for no other reason to rekindle the flame. Yeah there are now better cars out there - lots of them. But none with the personality that these cars had in their time 96-99. Hope you get a little "buzz" as I add new owners letters.

Hey Larry,
Just read about the V8 cam problem a little and am quite alarmed about this
situation. Still, I am going to continue ready more of the articles provided
just for my information.
I recently "inherited" (long story and legal I might add) a 1996 Taurus SHO.
It's a screamer. First one I have ever owned and driven. I am very impressed by
the car and have decided to keep it, although the recent articles are making me
rethink my decision somewhat. The car has 80,450 miles on it and the interior is
in great shape, close to immaculate. The leather is in great shape as is the
carpet. Everything still works well. No problems, except for the sway bar links.
I believe that is the problem from what I have read at V8SHO.com, it's the old
clunk problem. Seems a simple enough fix. I just replaced all the pads on the
car as well as the front rotors. I had to replace a o2 sensor when I got it too,
that was the cause of the Check engine light.
Enough rattling on I guess. I am just a huge fan of the SHO's now. I am 40 this
year and have never had such a high performance car as this one. It put my first
car, a 79 Camaro to shame sadly enough. I want to do more to get more HP out of
it, been considering an exhaust system. The only thing the car does need is a
paint job, someone didn't take very good care of the body, it has some very deep
scratches in it and a few small dents. It really doesn't look that bad but it
bothers me, I'm anal about that kind of stuff, I keep all of my cars in awesome
condition. My other cars look brand new, but they aren't. There I go again.
Sorry!
Heres my info Larry

Chris, it's ok to be "40 something" and be impressed with the car. I'm 55 and still get a grin every day.
