Subject: Another door stop
I heard tapping. I took it in, they changed the oil and it quit. So, I took it apart.
When I removed the valve cover I immediately suspected the sprocket failure. I took pictures before I touched it. There were metal shavings around the sprocket/camshaft interface and on the housing. I removed the camshaft and found that the sprocket was free to rotate w/r/t the camshaft.
I have a silver 1997 V8 (I thinks it's a V4 now) SHO.
I want to join the suit.
Thanks,
Ray
