SHO Shop News I
- Sheriff Buford T. Justice. - new 9/4/01
I got a phone from Vadim, owner of the SHO SHOP, tonight. The phone call was
brief but interesting. Vadim has several interesting juicy news items:
- His V8 blower project is moving along. He needs a reverse direction blower
like that on the V6 SHO and should have the parts very this week. I have
been a very good boy, maybe Santa will put a blower kit in my stocking?
- Item 2: Vadim has never been a big advocate of chips but recently has made
some inroads as a consequence of the blower project. His thinking is a stock
car will not benefit with a chip, but a V8 SHO with basic intake and exhaust
mods can find another 10 HP with a chip.
- Yamaha sources state the cam sprocket is a result of a bad batch of cams
and should not effect everyone. Batch size is reported to effect only 30
cars total? (out of a total 19,000 V8SHOs) They may be 100% correct but I am
still reservedly skeptical. If that is true, it should be an easy decision
for Ford/Yamaha, do right by those 30 owners (accept full responsibility)
and it is a minor obligation given the very limited total scope of the
problem. We can account for 14 bad cam sprockets out of about 500 cars on
the list so I remain skeptical.
