This is How The SHO Would Have Looked New

06/17/2007

Had the occasion to visit with Eric yesterday as he welded another SHO. This one was special. The 2nd Owner, James O. picked it up from a retired engineer who was given the car as a retirement gift from his employer. He had a Town Car he liked. He didn't like the SHO. However, respectful of the car it was driven only about 900 miles a year to "keep the seals moist". What you are about to see is a car that if it simply pulled into the K-Zoo parking lot, after a quick run through a car wash and vacuum, would instantly walk away with best of SHO - Popular Vote, and probably best of GIII Stock.

What you are about to see is the car as it sat in the driveway. The original owner simply parked it in his garage, it never saw foul weather. The tires were the original RSA's that still had the "nubbies" sticking out. IT STILL SMELLED NEW!!

This car had no irritating clunks, noises or other "irritants" we as SHO owners have come to live with. IT WAS CONCURS PERFECT!
Behold!!!!!

                         9772 rounds!

Folks pay attention to the fasteners and hoses. The looms and hoses were supple as could be, the fasteners looked like they just came off the parts shelf. The foam insulation on the Surge Tank was pristine, no tears or separation. Get This - THE Y PIPE STILL HAD THE FACTORY STICKER ON IT!! We were one step away from dropping the gas tank in giddy anticipation that the Build Sheet would be there - but didn't. The owner was not present to ask permission.
I want to thank Eric for alerting me to this once in a lifetime opportunity. I would love to have seen SW9 the day it was delivered.
Sticker on it was tad over 31K delivered from the Ford dealer in Don's neighborhood - Bloomington Ford.
