Recently a complete left hand drive crate motor sold on EBAY for $5,000. Ever curious I called the seller
(from EBAY)
The name of our company is Parts International. We have been in business for over 10 years, selling Ford parts. We have a huge inventory of original OEM Ford products acquired from the buyout of non moving dealer stock. Our target customers are dealerships; however, we can make this deal available to you. If you have any questions, we can be contacted by phone at 888-727-0418 7:30 a.m to 6:00 p.m. Central time or by email.
I learned they have three right hand crate motors still on the pallets. Their visual inspection indicates they are identical to domestic engines, Parts International can not find any external differences.
Purely speculation; could the performance be better because the cams could be hotter & emission requirements less? I doubt it. We have one RHD SHO in UK with a factory welded cam. Because many of the export cars were factory program cars for Ford executives could all RHD have factory welded cams?
At a deep discount the 4 cams alone are worth $4000.
How hard is it to get a RHD engine to work in your car? Easy or expensive? Nobody knows.
Need an engine? Feel lucky?
Call 1 888-727-0418, tell them V8SHO sent you.
Let me know if you find factory welded cams please?
Thanks,
Buford
FYI I been talking to the guy about the RHD motors. Here are pictures and comments.

Paul,
These motors are all in bags and in the original crates. They have all components, including the alternator and power steering pump. I attached a few pictures for you. Payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Cashiers Check.
Thanks

Good. I am interested in a motor. Do they have an alternator and ps pump on them? Where are you located?
Thanks

Paul,
There are no visible differences between the motors. We have asked many people about internal differences, and have no answers. The thinking is that the RHD motor has different part number due to freight to the U.K.. We do not know for sure. ASE Techs seem to think Ford would not build a different motor, they would just have different cables from driver to motor.
Thank, Doug

Is there any physical difference between these and the lhd motors? Are these crate motors with accessories? Thanks

PAUL,
The motors are $4500.00 ea plus freight. Freight is between $150-$200 per motor.

Paul,
I am not sure to what you are referring. If I assume, you are talking about the RHD 3.4 motors. I do have 3 left.
