The best laid plans - Blah, blah, blah.
I finished my fab work on the Eaton M90 project. I plan on putting it
on my green 96 along with a stout upgrade to the tranny because the
tranny that's in there right now is a little sick.
Tranny's not done yet. Oh well, just picked up a new front cover lip
seal for the crank pulley. Gonna throw the modified front cover on the
engine and tranny which are already in the car and then put on the
blower for real.
I don't expect the tranny to live long if this critter works, but it
should be funny to see what flies out from where. I planned on taking
it all out anyhow, so what the hell, eh?
Should be lots of blood and beer this weekend. Last hurdle is the
right size belt...Ahhh - The Belt Game!
Eric Lehmann...
96 Medium Willow Green Metallic 103k Resurrected, Welded - SOON with
BOOST! Then SOON with a Scattered Tranny ;-)
*Note that Eric has very real expectations of this sucker coming out of the car
again for Autopsy and repair - there's no doubt he's gonna scatter that already
ailing AX4N!

Good luck Eric.
Like Porter mentioned to me again this week in reference to my busted car...
"The Pioneers are the ones with the arrows in their backs".
Build it - Beat it - fix what the next weak link is...

Yes, Eric, mucho luck here. This group is nothing if not "pioneers" in so many
areas. Please be sure to keep us updated as we are crossing our fingers and
toes.
It was also nice getting to finally meet you too!

Stopped in for a sandwich and email update.
I got the Harmonic Dampener (Crank Pulley) off the car. Got the
modified rear valve cover and modified front cover ready to go on the
car with all the appropriate seals in place.
Then I went after the belt tensioner pulley - Props to Loctite Corp
and a wonderful product. LAST time I had this engine out I put a few
drops on this bolt. Sumbich - that bastard fought me every turn until
out! BRAVO - Gonna use that Loctite again, no worries about anything
falling out.;-)
Still pulling valve covers, steering pump and front cover from the
engine. Hope this thing sounds like a 03/04 Cobra when I'm done.
Right now, I'd settle for any sound at all and go from there...
Great pleasure meeting you too, CC! Always a pleasure to put a face to
the screen name.
Ron's Quote - Most excellent, made me smile. Can be Knives sometimes too.
Scott - I'll be finding weak links shortly, I hope.

8 beers
Dinner Break. Good day. going back together already. Got the new front
cover in place. Maybe valve covers tonight too, (?) - see when dinner
is.

Only 8 beers?

A few tidbits before I go get all greasy again. A shot of the goody
package - Modified front cover to clear the new belt path, modified
valve cover for the same reason. Custom intake and exhaust for blower
with necessary vacuum hardware - I'm gonna TRY the PCV system through
this blower. Blower head shown, intake box plenum was on the motor
when I took this shot, but THAT is all the hard work in there.
Also, a shot of the teardown - "Some" disassembly required...
Hopefully, by the end of the day, I'll have more "on" than just a good
buzz. Have to prioritize, however.
The goody package Uhh some assembly required!

As long as the pcv is plumbed back in before the blower intake it should
work...right?
k mier
______________________________________________________________________
That's what I'm thinking. I have it plumbed in between the throttle
body and the blower intake. Just have to run really good oil now, as
I'll be lubing the supercharger screws with it too.

After Bill's good advice, I've made good head way. Front cover and
Valve covers are on. Blower bracket and blower mounted. Intake adapter
on back of blower. Almost time for the "Belt Game" - Oh boy!
A 55" belt can cost 19.00. a 55 1/2" belt can cost 60.00. In the belt
game you never know what size/price you'll end up with - maybe 20.00,
maybe 60.00.

Have to hold the throttle 1/2 way down when cranking. Runs like a$$,
but it IS running. I therefore declare today the first day when a
Positively Displaced Supercharger ran on a 3.4 liter V8 SHO Motor.
Yes - a SHO WILL run on Mustang injectors.
DOUG ! ! ! - Get your Butt in my CPU ! ! !
NOW the fun begins :-)

How much boost does it put out? Is the M90 from the GTP? Can one be put
on a SHO from a 03-04 cobra? Sounds like a blast.

Did a little of this, a little of that, and now I have a car that will
run long enough to get the power steering fluid spilled on the front
cat smoking like a bitch!
I think I registered on tonight's weather report.
Anyhow, this JJK2 CPU seems to learn something new each time I crank
the car over.
Found it's spot a couple of times now. Sounds sinister - there is
DEFINITELY something going on under that hood, no mistaking it.
Kinda like a rear alternator bearing going out, except without the
battery light.
I'll probably put it in gear tomorrow.
Still feel like one or two injectors are still waking up - sometimes
smooth, sometimes rough. No check engine light yet, probaly 15 run
cycles and 25 minutes of run time, FWIW.

Ok, we have an idle... was that enough to fire out a diff pin like a 12 gauge
slug? Or will it take a rev up to <gulp> 3K RPMs in drive?! ;-)
Kudos on the progress! I have no reservations admitting that you have a much
larger... bankbook... than I, for tempting fate in such a manner.
Hell... blowers, rowboats... I guess these cars have finally depreciated enough
that it's a little bit FUN, rather than completely INSANE to fiddle around with
the hardcore stuff. Some day MAYBE I'll get up to speed. Bon voyage to those
intrepid warriors out in front!
